Hiking at Lake Achensee
Guided hikes, forest bathing & summit tours
Lake Achensee. The Karwendel Nature Park. The Rofan Mountains. And right in the middle: DAS KRONTHALER – “the alpine pole position” for those seeking deeply moving experiences in nature. 450 kilometers of hiking trails wind through a landscape full of contrasts: gentle paths for leisure hikers, challenging routes for summit enthusiasts. Perfect in both summer and winter.
To the west lies the Karwendel – the largest protected area in the Northern Limestone Alps. Here, hikers share the trails with chamois, ibex, and marmots, while eagles and buzzards circle overhead. Between untouched valleys, traditional alpine huts invite you to enjoy Tyrolean delicacies – nature at its purest.
To the east, the Rofan Mountains unfold. Green and gentle, yet rugged and wild. Soft meadows lead up to rocky peaks that drop steeply into the valleys. With the Rofan cable car, you can comfortably reach 1,831 meters, where panoramic tours and rustic huts offer stunning views of the “Tyrolean Sea.”
